Arizona Summit on Youth Violence

On September 12-13, 2024, the Juvenile Justice Services Division of the AOC hosted a summit on youth violence. Each county assembled a team of attendees, led by the Presiding Juvenile Court Judge. Members of the teams included judges, juvenile probation leadership and staff, law enforcement officials, education leaders, mental health providers, county attorneys and public defenders. In addition, our partners from the Departments of Child Safety, Juvenile Corrections, and AHCCCS were in attendance. There were over 90 in attendance. The summit provided speakers on three main areas of youth violence, including root causes and risk factors, examples and accounts from direct reports from those working in the field, and current strategies and progreams to mitigate youth violence. This page will provide resources and information that was shared at the summit.
